Guess I need to put this at the top!

Because some of us are listing books that we've never read before and don't really know what they are about but heard it through a grape vine that they were good, and someone on this club may have already read the book and found it very inappropriate, or have other opinions about it; this is going to be the new set RULE!
I'm going to do a rating system and I hope it works. If you have already read one of the books listed then you are welcome to make a COMMENT (not a post) about the book.

This is how I would like the comments to look....
"I have read (book name) and this is my rating for it...(ratng)"
That's ALL!!!

Rating system:
EP: Extremely Poor
P: Poor
O: Okay
G: Good
EG: Extremely Good
E: Excellent

Now if the rating is above okay, then at the end of the month that the book is in you may write a post or comment about the book and what you thought of it. Please keep thoughts of the book for the months that they have been chosen for!!! If there is something seriously wrong with a book that someone has suggested then PLEASE EMAIL me with that problem and I will contact that person and let them know.
I really hope this works out and that you guys can agree with what I'm doing.
Thank you!
Mele

November Books...

Sorry Girls, I got a little confused. In November I had "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" set as the second book in the series, but really it's the first book in the series. SORRY!
Hope that helps!

Question about November's Book, "Out of Africa." I can't seem to find the enlish translation by that author, but there are plenty of books with that title by a different author. Which one is it? Thanks!

I just looked on Wikipedia, and "Isak Dinesen" is the nonm-de-plume for Karen Von Blixen-Finecke, so you may find the book under the name of that author. Hope that helps - I haven't actually read this book, so I'm not positive myself....but I'm looking forward to reading it :)

I just finished the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency and would give it a G....it was a good and quick read. I enjoyed getting to know more about the culture in Botswana; I didn't know anything about it prior to reading this book. I liked these people who are peace-loving and interested in each other. They kind of reminded me of "The Shire" in "Lord of the Rings". And the detective stories were a nice vacation from NCIS, CSI and the bloody, violent detective stories we get on TV! I don't think I'll read the next books in the series because I wasn't "hooked" in the story or the characters. However, I'm glad I read this book because it gave me a taste of Africa I hadn't "eaten" before. mm
